Elsie G Georgeson

Services for Elsie Geneva Georgeson are scheduled for Monday, February 20, 2012, 1:00 pm at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Stuart Baskin and Rev. Marialice Billingsley officiating. Tyler Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Georgeson was born November 12, 1916 in Cumby, TX to Robert Houston Vaughn and Sarah Elizabeth Stewart Vaughn. She passed away February 15, 2012 in Tyler. She attended Texas Tech and graduated from California State University at Long Beach. She taught for 24 years in the Garden Grove Unified School District. She married Kenneth Georgeson on July 14, 1945 in Lubbock. Mrs. Georgeson was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and was also a member of the Presbyterian Women. She tutored at Peete Elementary and was a member of the National Education Association.

She is survived by her son; Samuel Georgeson and Fiance Lisa Lindsey of Austin, TX; daughters, Martha Georgeson of Nashville, TN and Catherine Moranda of Tyler; grandchildren, Rose Ellis and husband, Cliff of Flint, TX, Scott Moranda (Deirdre Joyce) of Cortland, NY; great grandchildren, Alexander and Nicholas Ellis of Flint, TX and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth Georgeson; two sisters and three brothers.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm, Sunday at the funeral home.
