Forrest Wilson Hood, Jr. (Wilson) of New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away Sunday October 14, 2018 at age 89. Wilson was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Forrest W. Hood and Gaynelle Ellison Hood. He moved to Tyler, Texas in 1945 where he attended Tyler High School and met his wife and the love of his life for 68 years, Lynne Stanley Hood. Wilson graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor’s Degree in Geology. His career in the Oil and Gas industry concluded in New Orleans where he retired from CNG Producing as Sr. Vice President of Exploration.
Wilson is survived by his wife, Lynne Stanley Hood, his daughters, Rebecca Freedman (Allen), Melissa Ryan, Cynthia Reseigh (JR), Carrie Hood (Kerry Grombacher), daughter-in-law, Marianne Bruder Hood, his sister Ruth Ann Hood Sheppard (Phil), his 10 grandchildren, Jonah Freedman, Aaron Freedman, Kristin Provencher, Tyler Hood, Matson Hood, John Ryan, Danny Ryan, Colleen Ryan, Jacqueline Blair, Justin Blair and 10 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his son, Timothy Allen Hood and his brother, John Mark Hood.
Wilson had a passion for fitness and loved tennis. He was a gentleman, who will be remembered for his eloquence, humility and integrity.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 18th at First Christian Church, 8121 Airline Drive, Metairie, Louisiana. Visitation will begin at 10AM with a service following at 11AM.
Interment will be at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home & Cemetery in Tyler, Texas on Saturday, October 20th. Visitation beginning at 1PM with a service following at 2PM.
