Burial will be in Tyler Memorial Park.
Mr. Pilkinton was born Jan. 25, 1940, to the late Harold A. and Melba Farrar Pilkinton and passed away on March 6, 2011, in a local hospital. Mr. Pilkinton served in the U.S. Army and was a referee and umpire for basketball and softball. He had resided in Tyler since 1978.
Mr. Pilkinton is survived by his wife of 43 years, Connie Pilkinton of Tyler; daughter, SuAnn Kologey and husband Brian of Lindale; grandchildren, Coleman Krause, Zabe Krause and Alanna Kologey, all of Lindale; brother, David Lynn Pilkinton; sister, Penny Lou Steele; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
