

James Edward Lampin, 68, of Tyler, passed away on January 26, 2013 at his home. Mr. Lampin, a retired fabricator for an industrial company, was born on December 14, 1944 in Merryville, LA. Following school he went to work as a mechanic. On August 17, 1968, he married Vera Cassandra Garrett. They made their home in Merryville before moving to Tyler a year later. He went to work for a local industrial company, where he would work as a fabricator foreman until his retirement in 2000. He enjoyed the outdoors; hunting, fishing, building cars and off-roading. He is survived by his wife, Vera Cassandra Lampin of Tyler; sons, Jessie (and his wife, Sheri) of Colorado Springs, Jody (and his wife, Beth) of Tyler, James, Jr. (and his wife, Karrie) of Whitehouse; daughter, Tina Williams of Whitehouse; his mother, Lela Jeans of Longview; brothers, Willie Lampin of Tyler; Jimmy Lampin of Longview; sisters, Virginia Averitt of Merryville; Judy Kellam of Texarkana, TX; 13 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6-8PM, Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home, 12053 State Highway 64 West, Tyler, TX. Funeral services will be held at 10AM, Thursday, January 31, 2013, also at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Tyler Memorial Cemetery.
