Jimmie Earl Harris

Jimmie Earl Harris, 96, of Bossier Parrish, LA and formerly of Tyler, TX, passed on August 8, 2021 at her home. She was born February 12, 1925 to her parents; Zada Douglas and Leonard Featherston in Hamilton, TX.

Jimmie Earl and her family later moved to Athens, Texas where she met Joel Vernon Harris and was married on July 30, 1942. They later moved to Tyler where they raised their family and Jimmie Earl worked and retired from Mother Francis Hospital. She enjoyed home style cooking, caring for her family, yard, garden, birds and especially feeding her squirrels shelled pecans. She was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys and loved pie of any kind.

Jimmie Earl is survived by; Joel Vernon Jr. (son) and wife, Elizabeth Harris, Their 4 children; Alec and wife Juanita Harris, Aron and wife Cindy Harris, Cathy Harris, and James Harris. Great Grandchildren; Michael, Kaitlyn, David, Bryan, Justin, Tracy, and Gaige. Larry Leon Harris (son), his 2 children; Richard and wife Heather Harris. Jessica and husband Walter Walker. Great Grandchildren: Zakariah, Draken, Kaylee, Abigail, Madison, and many other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Jimmie Earl is pre-deceased by her husband Joel Vernon Harris sr, sister Lucille Kelly, daughter-in-law Sandra Harris, and Great Grandson CJ Harris.

Visitation will be Monday, August 16th from 12noon to the time of service at 1PM at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home, Cemetery & Mausoleum, 12503 State Hwy 64 West, Tyler, TX 75704. Burial will follow in the Tyler Memorial Cemetery & Mausoleum.
