Jimmy Stephen Tucker, age 73, of Tyler, Texas, passed away on Thursday August 5, 2021. His wife Kathryn Elaine Tucker, age 70, also passed away on Monday, August 16, 2021. Jimmy was born on November 6, 1947 in Tyler, Texas. Kathy was born on July 23, 1951 in Springhill, Louisiana. They were married on Tuesday, October 19, 1971, which would have been 50th anniversary.
Jimmy and Kathy pastored Light House Gospel Center Ministries, in Mineola, Texas for over 13 years. They were in the ministry for over 46 years total. Their mission has always been and still is today to win souls for The Lord. Today that legacy is striving to keep that mission going.
Jimmy enjoyed fishing and camping at Brushy Creek on Lake of the Pines. He also enjoyed driving his Ford Duly named Blue. A lot of the time you could find him in his shop playing old records and listening to Kenny Hinson singing. But, most of all, he would get up early and be in his office praying and reading The Word of God. Then of course, start playing his guitar and waking up the house.
Kathy enjoyed reading the Word of God as often as she could. The Book of James is her favorite. Kathy also could be caught canning all year long. She always wanted to make sure her family and friends never went without. She also had a heart for people who needed help. She would put together bags of food to give out to people she saw standing on corners holding signs up. She would start hallering to stop to be a light to that person. Her heart spoke louder than her voice.
They are survived by; Son - Joel and Tracy Taylor of Edom, Texas, Daughter - Stephenie Smith of Tyler, Texas, and Baby Girl – Blondee May. They have several grandchildren, great grandchildren, family, and friends.
