Joe, a retired employee of Baker-Hughes, was born on October 16, 1938 in Edingburg. He grew up and attended school in Edingburg. Following high school he met and married Lupe Barrera on July 28, 1957 in Alamo, Texas and made their home in Tyler in 1968.
He was preceded in by his son, Johnny Saenz on September 30, 2007.
He is survived by his wife, Lupe of Tyler; daughters, Ana Schlensker of Plano, Alma Hagan of Chandler; sons, Joe Saenz of Whitehouse, Jesse Saenz of Lindale, and several brothers and sisters, nineteen grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow at Tyler Memorial Cemetery.
