Services for John E. Gabbard, 72, of Tyler are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2011, at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Culpepper officiating. Interment will follow in Tyler Memorial Park.
Mr. Gabbard was born April 1, 1938, in Paris, Ark., to the late Luther and Dorotha Gabbard. He was a general operator for Goodyear Tire & Rubber for 32 years, and was a member of Friendly Baptist Church of Tyler.
Mr. Gabbard is survived by his wife, Sandra Gabbard of Tyler; son, John Michael Gabbard and fiancée, Denise Head of Tyler; daughter, Barbara Oldham and husband Charles of Whitehouse; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Luther and Jim Gabbard; sisters, Ida Mae Williams and Lillian Welch; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Vicki Gray.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
