

Graveside services for Lawrence J. “Dooley” Winegeart will be 10:00AM Saturday at Tyler Memorial Park with a Memorial service following at 11:00AM at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home.
Mr. Winegeart age 91, a resident of Hideaway Lake died on July 21, 2014. Lawrence was born on April 15, 1923 in Fresno, CA and raised in West Texas.
He was preceded in death by his wife, of 69 years the former Onealya Cole who died in 2012 as well as by his son, Larry Winegeart who died in 2005.
Mr. Winegeart, a World War II veteran, served in the U S Army as a telegraph operator and was in the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Winegeart was a partner in Reep and Winegeart Furniture Store in Paris, TX in the 1950’s, then moved to Lubbock, TX where he was a salesman for Sentry Insurance. He retired in 1983 and moved to Hideaway Lake at that time. Mr. Winegeart was an avid golfer, fisherman and hunter.
He is survived by two daughters, Dr. Linda Diaconis-Roesser of Baltimore, MD, and Lenise Shew of Hideaway Lake; one son, Kyle Winegeart of Lubbock, TX, one daughter-in-law, Martha Winegeart-Miller of Hideaway Lake, four grandsons, five granddaughters, and four Great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter.
The family appreciates the care given by Barbara Schmucker and the nurses at hospice of East Texas. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in L.J. Winegeart’s name to Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd, Tyler, TX 75701.
