

He was born in Eliasville, Texas on August 23, 1928. After graduating from high school, Lester served in the United States Air Force where he received technical training that prepared him for a career with IBM Corp. He was married to Norma Sue Howard in 1955 until her untimely passing in 1982 and later married to Dorothy Hammett Depew in 1983 who also preceded him in death in 2005.
Lester retired from IBM Corp.in 1987 after 30 years of service as a customer engineer. He attended Tyler Christian Fellowship, New Covenant Fellowship and The Cowboy Church and attended a men's bible study weekly with the same group of friends for 15 years.
He was preceded in death by children Otto Edward Hart and Leslie Levon Hart and is survived by children, Helen Sue Hart Taylor, Donna Depew Borden,
Timothy Wilson Depew and Neal Allen Depew as well as a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Many affectionately referred to him as "Pop".
He is remembered as a kind, gentle soul who loved the outdoors and enjoyed shooting black powder guns, splitting wood and mowing in his
tractor. He had a life-long interest in electronics and enjoyed repairing computers in his senior years. Every Friday, he met with his
fellow IBM retirees for coffee to discuss important world matters.
Funeral arrangements will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday March 3, 2017 at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. on March 3rd at the funeral home.
