Lorendia Kay Robertson was born on February 3, 1940, in Caldwell, Texas, to her parents Olga and Ralph Burton. When she was very young, her family moved to Odessa, Texas, where she grew up and later graduated from Odessa High School in 1958. While living in Odessa, she met the love of her life, Arthur Dean Robertson. After Dean returned home from serving in the Navy, the two were married on July 3, 1959. During their years in Odessa, they welcomed four children: Kathy, Lorendia, Arthur (Eugene, also known as Bubba), and Julie. In the summer of 1969, the family moved to Tyler, Texas for work, and in 1970 they settled into their home in the Noonday area, where Kay lived for the next 56 years.
Kay was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker who took great pride in caring for her home and family. She especially loved hosting family gatherings and spending time with those she loved. Later in life, she developed a passion for football and always looked forward to cheering on her favorite player, Patrick Mahomes. In her free time, she enjoyed relaxing on her porch, doing crossword puzzles, coloring, and watching game shows.
Kay was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Dean; her parents, Olga and Ralph Burton; her mother-in-law, Gladys Robertson; her brothers-in-law Otto Perryman, Dale Robertson, Gerald Robertson, Ray Robertson, and Bill Robertson; her sister-in-law Mary Dee Roland; and her son-in-law Ron Darden. She is survived by her four children: Kathy Elliff and her husband Lee, Lorendia Robertson, Arthur Robertson and his wife Lisa, and Julie Darden; her sister Johnnie Perryman; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many beloved grand dogs. Kay loved life and will be deeply missed by her family and everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
