We are saddened to announce the passing of Luther Wilson Lambright, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who departed this life on June 24 at the age of 85. Born on November 15, 1939, in Thornton, TX, Luther lived a full and meaningful life, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, loyalty, and unwavering faith.
Luther proudly served in the Navy aboard the USS Saratoga, embodying the values of duty and dedication that he carried throughout his life. Following his military service, he co-founded EDC Moving Systems, a business he built from the ground up into a highly successful company.
For 31 wonderful years, Luther shared his life with his wife, Fredda Lambright. He was a man who cherished the outdoors, whether tending to his farm in Grapeland TX, caring for his cows, or spending time with his treasured dogs. Luther believed in the simple pleasures of life and was a shining example of hard work and perseverance. Above all, he was a godly man, deeply grounded in his faith.
Luther is survived by his devoted wife, Fredda Lambright; his children, Jennifer Lambright, Weston Lambright and his wife Chassidy; his step-children, Martice Cole and her husband Jeff, and Jeremy Leach. Luther was the proud grandfather of Riley Benthul and Sebastian, Damien, Kya, Cecilia, and Roland Lambright. He is also survived by his brothers, Jimmy Lambright and his wife Glenda, and Larry Lambright and his wife Gail.
Luther is reunited in peace with his parents, SJ and Ersie Lambright; his sister Sherry Hart; his son Luther Wayne Lambright, and his grandson, Andrew Benthul, who preceded him in death.
Luther Lambright will be remembered by all who had the privilege to know him. Throughout his life, he exemplified humility, kindness, dedication, and generosity, leaving behind a quiet but enduring legacy of service to his country, family, friends, and faith. His contributions and the values he upheld continue to inspire those who knew him.
