

Vaughan, a retired rancher, was born on July 4, 1931 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Kent and Martha Jackson. He grew up and attended school in Little Rock. He then attended Little Rock Junior College, he then enlisted in the Air Force and served in Vietnam. While a cadet, he met Delia Marie Oder and they married on May 23, 1953 in Gladewater. During his military service, he received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Maryland, graduating in Tokyo. Following his military service he worked as a parole officer in the oil field and also a rancher.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Jackson of Chapel Hill; sons, Alan Jackson and his wife, Teresa of Chapel Hill and Milton Jackson, Jr. of Chapel Hill; daughter, Kathryn Brazzel and her husband, David of Chapel Hill; brother, David Jackson and his wife, Linda of Bryant, Arkansas; sister, Patsy Robertson and her husband, Gip of North Little Rock, Arkansas; 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM, Sunday, August 2, 2015 at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home, 12053 State Highway 64 West, Tyler. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Monday, August 3, 2015 at Fairwood United Methodist Church, 1712 Old Omen Rd., Tyler; with Rev. Ben West officiating.
Private graveside services will be held in Tyler Memorial Cemetery.
