Odilia “Odie” Kiser went to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 14, 2021. Odie was born in Mission, Texas, on Friday, July 7, 1933. She taught her family to be strong, agile, and opinionated. As a Navy wife, she was the rock of her family. It was a role she embraced with style, with grace, and with love.

Odie was married to her late husband, Donald Kiser, for 52 years. They moved seven times during the Vietnam War, eventually settling in Tyler, Texas. Odie was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. She also enjoyed bowling with friends and won several tournaments across the United States. Playing card games and dominoes with good friends made her very happy. Christmas was her favorite time to spend with her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren always made her proud. Odie is dearly loved by all who knew her.

Survivors include daughters, Jean Kiser and husband Tom Kanady, Karen Fountain and husband Ronnie Fountain; son, Wayne Kiser and wife Eva Kiser; grandchildren Garrett Roundtree and wife Kathleen Roundtree, Shelly Sullivan and husband Brian Sullivan, Mandi Wilson, Nicki Cornejo and husband JR Cornejo, Ronnie Fountain, Haley Kiser, Connor Kiser, Chance Kiser; great-grandchildren Dylan Roundtree, Ace Olivares, Tripp Cornejo, and Jax Cornejo; sister Aurora “Core” Murillo and husband Joe and brother Eduardo “Lalo” Garza and wife Rachel.

Odie, you will be missed by everyone you ever met. I enjoyed bowling with you, but mostly enjoyed your enthusiasm and fun you brought to our garage sales. Fly high to Heaven my dear friend.

My Aunt Odie was my god mother. She taught my mom how to cook and me how to cuss. She was always a calmimg force in my life. I loved introducing my boys to her. She will forever be in my heart. Deborah Lightfoot Bixby
