Oliver David Schuman died in his parents’ arms on May 28th, 2026 at Children's Medical Center Dallas. Oliver was born on April 29th, 2026, to his loving parents, Adrian and Holly Schuman. He weighed 6 pounds, 5 ounces and measured 18 inches long. He enjoyed listening to music, being sung to, and hearing his family read him stories. Oliver was a brave soul who fought against congenital lung disease for four weeks before he passed gently from this world.
Though Oliver's time on Earth was brief, he was deeply loved by his family and touched the lives of everyone around him. Like a tiny pebble forms vast ripples in a calm pond, his short life made a lasting impact on those who came to know him. His life was cherished by his parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. He also touched the hearts of the many medical professionals of the Children's Medical Center NICU who worked tirelessly and compassionately to care for him.
Those ripples reached even farther as news of Oliver's journey spread to countless people who offered prayers, encouragement, and acts of kindness in support of his family. Though his life was measured in days, the love he inspired and the legacy he leaves behind will endure forever.
Oliver will be forever cherished, forever missed, and forever held in the hearts of those who loved him, including his parents, Adrian and Holly Schuman; his grandparents, Brian and Karen Burk and Dave and Kathleen Schuman; his great-grandmothers, Sallie Burk and Nancy Bryan; his uncles, Alex Schuman and Josh Christie; his aunt, Rachel Schuman Christie; and his many other beloved family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held on June 27, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home, 12053 State Highway 64 West, Tyler, TX 75704, telephone (903) 597-1396.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas in Oliver's memory. Memorial contributions may also be made to Oliver's GoFundMe to help offset his medical and memorial expenses. Your generosity and support during this difficult time are deeply appreciated and will honor Oliver's memory in a meaningful way.
Though our arms held him for only a little while, our hearts will hold him for a lifetime.
