Mrs. Mayer, a retired Child Care Provider, was born on April 27, 1947 in Longview. She grew up in Mineola, Sweetwater and Hallsville. Following school she married James Mayer in 1965 and they made their home in Sweetwater before coming to Tyler in 1968. Jim preceded her in death in 2009.
She was an avid reader, enjoyed swimming and loved cats.
She is survived by her son, John W. and his wife, Kim Mayer of Grand Prairie; grandsons, Kenny Mayer of Grand Prairie and Alex Mayer of Grand Prairie.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at Tyler Memorial Cemetery, 12053 State Highway 64 West, Tyler; with Minister Don Hatch officiating.
