Ramon was in the Vietnam war/Army from 1968-1970. He worked at Tyler Pipe then went on to construction as a career after the Vietnam War. He was dedicated to his children and wife with love. His favorite thing to do was go fishing, watch football, play baseball and most of all he loved spending time with his family. He loved visiting his brothers and sisters in Edinburg, Texas.
Ramon is survived by his 3 lovely daughters Ann Luna (Daniel); Amy Vasquez (Camilo Jr.l); and Mary Arroyo (Adan); grandchildren, Joshua Luna, Aliyah Luna, Marlene Vasquez, Kimberly Merida, Marcos Veliz Jr., Jonathan Veliz, Christian Arroyo and Alexia Arroyo; great grandchildren, Gregory Menda, Lyann Merida, Jeremiah Vasquez, Jose Andrade, Noeli Andrade and Laila Santiago; grandson in-law, Nathan Merida; granddaughter in-law, Natalie Veliz; brothers and sisters, Juana Arredondo, Ramiro Veliz, Maria Aurora Garcia, Theodora Garza, Maria Cruz Garza, Maria Elena Ayala, Esperanza Torres, Rogelio Veliz and Pilar Veliz;
Ramon was preceded in death by his wife Juana Veliz; father Ramon Veliz Sr. and mother Lusa Veliz; sister Martina Veliz and brother Geronimo Veliz.
A time of visitation for Ramon will be held Friday, April 10, 2020 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home, 12053 State Highway 64 W, Tyler, Texas 75704. A graveside service will occur Saturday, April 11, 2020 at 3:00 PM at Tyler Memorial Cemetery, 12053 State Highway 64 W, Tyler, Texas 75704.
