Rickey attended Tyler Public Schools and served in the US Army. He attended Galilee Baptist Church as a youth. He loved his family and was known for visiting family and friends in the neighborhood, making himself at home. He touched many lives and never met a stranger.
He was preceded in death by Teresa Henderson Taylor, father, James Taylor, step-father, Daniel Oliver, sister, Cassandra Taylor, grandparents, several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is survived by his mother, Margie Scott, sons, Orlando Taylor and Derrick Cross. Sisters, Celetha Henson, Celesta Howard, Vivian Hobbs, and Donna Biscoe. Brothers, Charles Oliver, Harrell Taylor, Darrell Taylor, Scott Oliver, Demond Oliver, Brian Oliver, and Antonio Taylor. Seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
Graveside service will take place on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at The Cathedral In The Pines Cemetery in Tyler, Texas at 11am.
