

Visitation will be 1:00 PM Monday, September 12th at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home, 12053 TX-64, Tyler, TX.
Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM with Dudley Brookshire of Patton Lane Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow thereafter. Arrangements are by Tyler Memorial Funeral Home.
Rubye was born at Lindsey Switch, near Hoxie, Arkansas to Delford and Alma Bunton Tyree on October 26, 1926. She went to school at Hopewell and Clover Bend Community School. She was accepted into the Cadet Nursing Corps and graduated from Shreveport Charity Nursing School in 1947. She worked as a Registered Nurse and hospital administrator during her over 40 year nursing career.
She was an accomplished High School basketball player, winning her school’s Athlete award for 3 years. In her senior year she was chosen as an All State Forward with her team making it to the State Finals. She was passionate about gardening and was a certified Master Gardener. She enjoyed sharing her love and knowledge of gardening with others, especially children.
Rubye is preceded in death by her parents and brother Delford Tyree Jr.
Rubye is survived by her sister Annabelle Wheeler of Shreveport, La., daughters Sherry Edwards and Teresa Pace, son Brad and his wife Debbie, son Malcolm and his wife Sherry. Her grandchildren include Jamie Heichelheim, Justin Pace, Philip Pace, Rodney Edwards, Ashley Lesniewski , Joel Edwards and Jeffrey Edwards. Rubye also has seven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Children’s Homes, Inc., 5515 Walcott Road, Paragould, AR 72450.
