Samuel Rusk Davis was a man who loved his family and was there for them at any time. He was a veteran of the US Army. He fought bravely for his country and was a proud American. He loved jazz, blues, rock, and big band music, but his absolute favorite blues artist was Stevie Ray Vaughn. He loved his church family and taught adult Sunday School classes. Samuel loved his family and his church. He always had a smile on his face and talked to anyone who wanted to listen. He loved to fish and shoot guns. His family was his pride and joy. If you ever needed someone to talk to or just listen, Daddy was there.
Samuel is survived by two daughters and spouses Johnna (Chase) Hall and Georgia (Troy) Moomey; older sister and spouse Paula Davis (Robert A.) Johnson; three grandchildren Nicholas Blanton, Shane Blanton, and Kira Ellis; and two nephews Ben and Jeff Johnson.
A memorial service for Samuel will be held Saturday August 10th, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home in Tyler, Texas.
