

Dallas Vondal Wray of Lindale, Texas passed away at her home on Sunday, June 28, 2026, the day after her 93rd birthday. She was born on June 27, 1933 in Deberry, Texas to Dallas and Geddes (Marsh) Alford.
Vondal was raised in Jackson County, Mississippi and graduated from Wade High School with the class of 1951.
She was united in marriage to Billy Thomas Wray, Sr. in 1952. To this union, four children were born.
Vondal worked in the cafeteria for Dixie Elementary School for 20 years.
In her spare time, Vondal enjoyed spending time with all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, attending all their extracurricular activities. She also loved spending time loving on her pets, sitting on the porch drinking coffee, and watching the Texas Rangers.
In 1951, Vondal was named Miss Tyler and was 2nd runner up at Miss Texas.
Vondal will be lovingly remembered as “Nanny”. She was the best cook, loved serving others and was a loving friend to all. She built her life around loving her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Thomas Wray, Sr,; children, Karen Layne, Billy Wray, Jr., and David Wray’; great-granddaughter, Josie Shively; brothers, Joe Alford and Rick Losey; and parents, Dallas and Geddes Alford.
Vondal is survived by her daughter, Traci Parker and husband, Scott; grandchildren, Chris (Hosanna) Wray, Beth (Mike) Gann, Tory Coats, Cydney (Kevin) Waits, Colby (Leaslie) Wray, Morgan (Skyler) Shively, Saige (Eric) Welsh, and Orrin Parker; great-grandchildren, Caitlin, Kylie, Wyatt, Kenny, Dax, Darci, Abby, Blaine, Kennedi, Judson, Ellie, Ivy, Maylee, Railey, and Stevie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home - Cemetery & Mausoleum, 12053 State Highway 64 West, Tyler, TX 75704, US, on July 3, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
A graveside service will be held at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home - Cemetery and Mausoleum, 12053 State Hwy 64, Tyler, TX 75704, US, on July 3, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
