Bill graduated from Union City Joint High School of Union City, PA in 1959. He found great pride in serving his country right out of school from 1959-1968, as a Hospital Corpsman in the US Navy. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran, who was awarded a Purple Heart and a Good Conduct Award. While pulling an injured soldier from the field, he got shrapnel in his eye. Despite his injury he continued to help his fellow soldiers, but in his unique words, he always said he zigged when he should have zagged. Bill attended LSU in Baton Rouge, LA and earned his Bachelor's in Business Administration in 1972. Between 1972-2010, he worked in the Restaurant Equipment and Supply industry, retiring in 2010 from ADS Restaurant Supply Company in Tyler, Texas. Bill loved camping and travelling. He enjoyed cheering on the LSU Tigers, serving as a greeter at his church, and attending his high school reunions. Bill was a proud member of many organizations, such as the Flint Baptist Church of Flint, TX, the American Legion, and Military Order of the Purple Heart.
Bill is survived by his wife, Teresa; children from his first marriage; Lisa W. (Irving, TX) and Heather H. and spouse, David (Pendleton, OR); 5 grandsons, Rashad W. and spouse Ashley (Charlotte, NC), Jason W. (Irving, TX), Taylor D. (Dallas, TX), Chandler D.
