Long time used car dealer Willie Charles Cooper Jr., age 98, passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 in his home in Tyler. Willie was born on Friday, June 16, 1922 in Tyler, Texas to the late Willie and Eunice Cooper.
Willie graduated from Tyler High School. He was married to his loving wife, Bobbie Newman, on Saturday, October 16, 1948. Willie loved traveling and spent many years delivering cars to locations all over the United States. He was a people person and had many, many friends and acquaintances. Willie enjoyed listening to good music, drinking cold beer and he never got tired of visiting with his buddies.
Willie is survived by his son, Duane Cooper and companion Rachel Murray of Tyler; daughter, Lynn McCabe of New London; sister, Ina Lee Freeman; and three grandsons, Jonah Holt and wife Angie of Austin, C.J. McCabe and wife Kristen of Henderson, and Cody McCabe of New London.
Willie is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Cooper; parents, Willie and Eunice Cooper; and sister, Vestal White.
A graveside service will take place on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the Tyler Memorial Park Cemetery.
