Anna T. Krysiewicz passed away peacefully on February 1, 2023, at Fairview in Groton, surrounded by her family. She was 96. Anna was born in Brooklyn, NY on January 9, 1927, the daughter of Anthony and Julia (Kobelski) Klosieski.
She lived in Uncasville, CT for most of her life where she met and married her husband Frank and had three daughters. They shared 61 years together before his passing in 2007.
Anna’s employment was in civil service. She worked at U.S. Army Post Engineers, Ft. H. G. Wright on Fishers Island, NY and then after a break to raise her daughters, she worked at the U.S. Naval Submarine Base where she held many different positions in the Personnel Dept., Medical Center, and Naval Submarine School.
She retired in 1987. She enjoyed traveling and spent many years in Florida during the winter months with her husband. Anna was a very devoted wife and mother, putting her family first in everything she did. She was a quiet, happy homemaker who preferred any attention to be on her husband or children rather than on herself. Her happiest moments were spent doing simple things with her family; celebrating birthdays and holidays, sharing a meal, playing scrabble, or going for a ride. Anna loved music and dancing and will be remembered for her kind manner and good nature.
She is survived by her daughters, Susan Rys and her husband Steve of Oakdale, and Kathleen Kocon and her husband Forrest of North Franklin. Her daughter Carol Hirschfeld predeceased her in 2017. Seven grandchildren, Marc, James, and Jonathan Andrew, Stacy (Andrew) Fairley, Kimberly (Kocon) Radachy, Melissa (Kocon) Sevigny, and Kristin (Rys) McDermott survive her, as well as 16 great grandchildren. Granddaughter Lauren Rys Parsons predeceased her in 2022. Anna was also predeceased by her siblings, Helen Seretna, Wanda Pastore, and Anthony, Stanley, and Francis Klosieski. Anna’s family would like to thank Fairview for providing wonderful and compassionate care for her during her final years. Services and burial will take place at a later date for immediate family
