
He was born April 8th, 1932, in New Haven Ct., the son of the late Salvatore and Marie (Parisi) Caporale. He grew up in New Haven, Ct., where he attended local schools, including Notre Dame of West Haven high school, where he was a member of the school’s first graduating class. He attended Arnold College in Milford before transferring to the University of Bridgeport where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education in 1954. He received a Master’s degree in education from Central Connecticut State University and a sixth year certificate in school administration from the University of Hartford.
On Feb. 12, 1955, he married the love of his life, Josephine (Nee Mannochi). After serving two years as a First Lieutenant in the US Marines in North Carolina, the couple relocated to North Canaan, CT where he taught 8th grade math and science at North Canaan Elementary school from 1957 thru
1966. In 1966 the couple and their five children moved to Montville, where he made his home until his death. He was the principal of Fields Memorial School in Bozrah from 1966 to 1970 before spending the next 22 years as an administrator in the Montville public school system, including the last seven as Principal of Montville High School. He is survived by children Arthur & David of Uncasville, CT, Nina and
Kim Murray of Randolph, Ma, Daniel of Hudson, NH and Maria of Clinton Ct, along with grandchildren Laura, Linda, Steven, Bobby, Briana & Michael. He was predeceased by his wife Josephine (Dec 1999), brothers William, James and Salvatore and sister Virginia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Johns Church, 22 Maple Avenue, Uncasville, on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 10 am with internment to follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Montville Funeral Home of Church and Allen on Monday evening February 2, 2015 from 5 to 8 pm.
