

Bonita Leah Brown has gone on to be with her family. She died on May 27, 2015. Born in Norwich, Ct October 23, 1943 to Isobel and James Brown who predeceased her, leaving her husband of 25 years, John Marion. She is also survived by her son, Carl S Brown his wife Tina and her grandchildren Nicco and Trinity. Her brother James Brown Jr. Died in 2003.
Bonita worked as a fashion model for twenty one years. She ended her career to raise her son as a single Mom working as a bartender, substitute teacher and various other service jobs. Her compassion was enormous and she touched the lives of many people.
Most of her life was spent in Uncasville after her early life moving to many States and Countries when her father, a career naval officer was reassigned. Bonita had a passion, talent and love for gardening and spent many hours lovingly tending to her flowers and a sizeable vegetable garden.
She also found time to manage a softball team and was a long time member of the Norwich Golf Club where she not only was an avid competitor but also an organizer and volunteer at club events. In 1995 she was awarded the Norwich Golf Club Association’s Board of Governor’s award for outstanding service.
A memorial service will be held at St. John’s Church on Maple Ave. Uncasville on June 10th at 10AM followed by a Celebration of her life at the Montville Polish Club at 11AM.
