

Carolyn was born in Milford, Delaware to Jacob Reiff K. Stauffer and Sara (Seal) Stauffer on August 3, 1933. She graduated from South Kingstown High School, Wakefield, RI in 1951 and the University of Rhode Island in 1955. Her first priority was her love and care for her children and family. Children of the Montville area would know her as a former 2nd grade teacher, Sunday school teacher, and both a girl scout and cub scout leader but she touched the most children through her years at Raymond Library as a librarian and story hour teacher. Carolyn’s favorite were gardening outdoors, doing puzzles, talking with family and friends, and enjoying the company of her cat.
Carolyn is survived by three sons, Richard (Patricia) Lafleur, Reiff (Teresa) Lafleur, and Robert Lafleur, one daughter, Rochelle (Court) Rossman, and her beloved grandchildren, Amy, Benjamin, Elizabeth, Stephen, and Mikayla. She is survived by a sister, Mitzi (William) Gates, and many nieces and nephews.
Carolyn is predeceased by her husband, Richard A. Lafleur, parents, two sisters Maxine Rettew and Sara Whaley and her young grandson, Alexander Rossman.
Montville Funeral Home of Church and Allen, Uncasville, CT will be handling the funeral arrangements. Visitation will be held on April 7th at 10 AM with a memorial service to follow at 11 AM. A 2 PM Burial will follow at New Fernwood Cemetery, 3120 Kingstown Rd., Kingston, RI. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Cancer Association, P.O.
