Charlene was born on Oct. 30, 1952 in Providence, RI, the daughter of the late Charles Harris and Irene Coutu Harris.
During her career, she worked as a photographer, animal control officer and constable for the State of Rhode Island.
She was a passionate pianist and an accomplished photographer who incorporated her art into every facet of her life.
"Mom was always able to find the beauty in the simplistic natural ebbs and flows of life. Her life is reflected in a colorful tapestry she created all around her that will never be forgotten,," her daughter Christina Kokotek-Johnson said.
She is survived by her sons; Paul Kokotek of Providence, RI, and Jesse Kokotek of Tampa, FL, her daughter; Christina Kokotek-Johnson and her husband David Johnson of Saranac, NY, her grandson; Joseph X. Johnson, and her sister; Joan Acquaviva of Gales Ferry, CT.
Her memorial funeral service was held at the Mohegan Church on March 17 followed by her burial at the Mohegan Burial Grounds at Fort Shantok. She was eulogized by Chief Many Hearts, Dr. Lynn Malerba.
