

Uncasville- With great sadness we announce the passing of Cheryl Faye Brunelle, 64, of Uncasville. Cheryl passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, peacefully, at William W. Backus Hospital. Cheryl was born in New London, Connecticut, on August 19, 1952 to Clyde Hiatt, her father, the late Dorothy Strickland Long, her beloved mother, and was also nurtured by her beloved step-father James Long. She lived most of her life in Montville, and Cheryl worked many years as a waitress, cook, casino dealer and later opened a restaurant with her husband called Full Belly’s. She enjoyed cooking, dancing, dinner parties, telling jokes, old movies, bright colors, and spending time with her family. Cheryl was loving, giving and had a wonderful sense of humor and made people laugh wherever she went. Cheryl leaves behind her husband, CSC (SS) David Thomas Brunelle, USN, (Retired) of Uncasville, CT and her siblings, Ronald LaFever and Susan Pettry. She was predeceased by her twin brothers Dean and Gene Hiatt. Cheryl is survived by her four children, Shane Michael Long, John Wayne Bozsum, Jr., Susie Noel Jacobs, and William James Vine; her 15 grandchildren, Jessica Long, Cevan Long, Cortney Jeanne Roche, Kelsey Lynn Bozsum, Torey Vine, Jake Mitchell Vine, Lauren Ashley Jacobs, Kristina Rose Jacobs, Austin William Vine, Avery Judith Vine, Nicholas Wayne Bozsum, Lilliana Marie Bozsum, Abigail Faye Bozsum, Alejandro Long, Coyle Lawrence Vine, and was a great-grandmother to Aubrie Lynn Bozsum. In addition, Cheryl was also survived by her two loving animals, Rascal and Spooky. The celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday June 16, 2017 at the Mohegan Tribal Burial Ground located at Fort Shantok in Uncasville, CT.
