She was born on February 15, 1952 in Norwich, CT. She was the daughter of the late Kathleen and Frank Yelton and Jack Chiaramonte.
Colleen graduated from Montville High School in 1970 and The Berkeley School in White Plains, NY.
She worked for Southern New England Telephone Company as a repair technician for 25 years and served as a Union Steward.
Colleen was active in New London Rec Softball and Volleyball for many years. Among her favorite times were vacations with her sisters (her best friends) to Florida, NYC theaters, Vermont, Colorado, Mexico, London and Paris.
Colleen is survived by her beloved sons, Joshua (Lynn) and Jacob (Bethany). She adored her wonderful grandchildren Zeigh, Zeta and Jackson.
Colleen is also survived by her sisters, Maureen Bierylo (Jim), Pauline (Babe) Currier-McDonald, (Art). She is also survived her brothers, Jack Chiaramonte (Donna) and Sid Yelton (Lori).
Colleen leaves behind a lifelong friend, Linda Stefanski of Lebanon whom she considered another sister, and also three nephews and three nieces, four great nieces and 5 great nephews.
Colleen was predeceased by her parents and her younger brother and sister, Scott Yelton and Nadine Yelton.
Calling Hours/Visitation for Colleen will be held at the Montville Funeral Home of Church & Allen, 53 Norwich-New London Tnpk., Uncasville, CT, on September 23, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm, followed by a Funeral Home Service at Montville Funeral Home of Church & Allen at 6:30 pm.
