

Oakdale-Daniel Traynor, age 78, passed away at his home on April 11, 2025. He was born in Homestead, PA on April 17, 1946 to the late Michael and Dorothy Eiker Traynor. He married Susan (Gardner) Traynor on July 20, 1968 at New London, CT. She survives him.
Daniel graduated from Fitch High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Army. He worked as a machinist at Whiton in N.L. Turbine manufacturing at Terry Corp. and Plastic extrusions at Davis Standard.
After a turbulent plane ride home from Vietnam, Dan Preferred not to fly for a time, but he loved taking his wife and driving cross country. National Parks like Yellowstone & Zion. Favorite beaches included Folly S.C. and Key West. Civil War Sites with the Gettys, and pulling lobster traps on Vinalhaven, ME.
Closer to home they enjoyed camping with the Fold & Go club. Pastimes included salt water fishing in the Sound plus every lake this side of Connecticut.
Besides his loving wife, he is survived by a son Joseph Thomas Traynor and his wife Jennifer of North Berwick, ME, a daughter Pamela Hellwig and her husband Gregory of Preston. Grandchildren include Emma, Willow and Preston Traynor and Clayton Plourde. He also leaves behind a brother Michael Traynor and sisters Maryann Bower, Dorothy Zuckerman, and Elizabeth Josephine Scott. He is predeceased by brother Louie and James Traynor.
