David Mark Ackles

David Ackles, 71 passed away May 24, 2023 at home. He was born in Norwich Ct. on Oct. 20, 1951 to the late Carroll Ackles and the late Elizabeth (Hamiln) Ackles.

He married Cynthia (Lubszewicz) on Nov. 16, 2002. He leaves behind his wife Cynthia Ackles of Montville, daughter Jennifer Ackles of Clinton, Ct. and son Roger Ackles of Grand Junction, Co. He also leaves his two sisters Kerry Young of Boca Raton, Fl,and Virginia and husband Mastofa Zanjani of Preston Ct.

He was predeceased by his sisters, Judith Bojarski and Lauren Way and was also predeceased by two brothers Kevin Ackles, and Steven Ackles.

He also leaves behind sister-in-laws Michelle Audette, Sharon Krone, Sandra Rader and husband Roger sister-in-law Robin Ackles and brother-in-law Steven Way, as well as many nieces and nephews.

David grew up in Montville. He graduated from Montville High School. He worked most of his life in the Plumbing-Heating-Air Condition business. He retired this year from EMCOR- New England Mechanical Services as a Project Manager in New London Ct.

Dave was an excellent Pool Player, who participated in pool tournaments. He was an avid fisherman who loved all types of fishing. His favorite was fly fishing using his own hand made flies. Every chance he had, he would ride his Harley Motorcycle with the wind blowing through his hair, feeling free without a care in the world.

He will be sadly missed by his family and all who knew him. He had the largest heart of gold.

A visitation for David will be held Monday, June 5, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Montville Funeral Home of Church & Allen, 53 Norwich New London Tpke, Uncasville, Connecticut 06382. A funeral service will occur Monday, June 5, 2023 at 12:00 PM, 53 Norwich New London Tpke, Uncasville, Connecticut 06382. A burial will occur at St. Joseph Cemetery, Norwich, CT.
