
Frances Hefner 89, died peacefully at the Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, MD on May 13, 2017, with her family by her side. She was born February 27, 1928 In New York, New York to the late Fred Maugham and the late Bridie (Macklin) Swanson. She married the late John Henry Hefner on April 10, 1954 in Brooklyn, NY a few years later moved to Connecticut, She was a member of the Montville American Legion and the Montville Senior Center. She was predeceased by her husband John Hefner, her sisters Alice, Gracie, Yvonne and Maureen and two brothers Fred Maugham and Anthony Leland. She was also predeceased by her two sons Edward Anderson of Norwich, CT and John Hefner Jr. of East Lyme, CT as well as her grandparents. She is survived by 2 sisters Geri Holcott of Arizona and Eleanor Alo of Waterford, CT. She is also survived by two daughters Diane Hefner and Frances Mullins of Pocomoke City, MD and 1 son Frederick Hefner of Princess Anne, Md. Frances has 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 2 great-great-grand children and several nieces and nephews. She will be laid to rest on Saturday, August 05 2017 at the State Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown, CT at 11:00 AM. The Montville Church and Allen Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
