Mrs. Frances M. Ratnecht Malchiodi

Montville- Frances “Fran” M. Malchiodi, 88, of Oakdale, CT, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2012 at the St. Joseph Living Center.

Frances was born November 15, 1924 in Oakdale, the daughter of the late John and Margaret Ratnecht.

She graduated with honors from Norwich Free Academy.

She married the late George C. Malchiodi December 29, 1946 in New London.

Frances was very creative and artistic. She was a seamstress, painter, quilter, card maker and gardener. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother as well as a good friend to many.

She is survived by her sons George L. Malchiodi and wife Joanne Marie of Lebanon, Gary L. Malchiodi of Sterling, daughter Lynn Malchiodi Hendy of Summerville, SC, brother Tony Ratnecht and wife Mary of Pearl River,NY, sister-in-law Caroline Belliveau of Norwich, CT.,grandchildren Dawn Malchiodi Orzolek, Deena Hendy Valentino, Laura Malchiodi Stone, John Hendy, Karen Malchiodi Walsh, great grandchildren Brandais, Brianna, Joshua, Sarah and David Orzolek, Mark Valentino Jr., Christina Valentino, Abigail and Logan Stone, Caitlin and Aiden Walsh, and by numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at the Montville Funeral Home of Church and Allen on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at 10 am. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery in Montville.
