

She was born in Waterford on May 27, 1917 to the late George and Olive (Crane) Perkins Sr. Frances married her beloved husband Elwood Sharp on Sept. 6, 1943 at Montville Union Baptist Church. He predeceased her in 1988.
Frances was a loving wife and mother working outside the home at Prescott’s Cake Shop and Woolworth’s in New London as well as Sharp’s Christmas Tree Farm in Uncasville. She belonged to the Montville Historical Society, TOPS of Uncasville, Montville Senior Center, National Christmas Tree Assoc., and was a member of the Montville Union Baptist Church where she cultivated her lifetime walk with her savior.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews, and her loving family; Jean-Pierre, Janet, Nathan and Jalyn Lesieur, as well as her church family and many loving friends. Frances was predeceased by her husband; Elwood, her beloved daughter; Carol Ann Mikna, her step-mother Millie Francisco who raised her after her own mother’s death, brother; George Perkins Jr., and sisters; Thelma Perkins and Dorothy Tracy.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 4-6pm at the Montville Funeral Home of Church and Allen, RT32 Uncasville. We will reassemble on Monday at the funeral home at 9am and proceed to the Montville Union Baptist Church, 279 RT 163 Montville, for a 10am Funeral Service. Burial will immediately follow at E. Lyme Cemetery.
