James "Hilly" Hillhouse

He was born in Shanghai China on Sept. 8, 1935 to the late Francis and Ann (Wootton) Hillhouse. He left college to join the US Army where he served in the 79th Engineer Division during the Korean Conflict until his Honorable Discharge. On July 7, 1962 Hillly married his beloved wife Marjorie (Faraci) at St. John Church in Uncasville, CT. She survives him.

Hilly worked as an overhead crane operator for N.E. Utilities until his retirement. He was also a Life Member of the Oakdale Fire Dept. His enjoyed serving his community and spending time with family and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife Marjorie, sons; James Hillhouse II, Kenneth Hillhouse and his wife Julie, brother; Francis “Bob” Hillhouse, sisters; Judith Sheridan and Maryann “Libby” Manning, grandchildren; Morgan, Nicholas and Carlie along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Oakdale Fire Dept., 444 Chapel Hill Rd., Oakdale, CT 06370 on Saturday, June 13th from 1pm – 4pm. Burial is private at the convenience of the family.
