Jeannette C Gregoire

Jeannette Clotilde Gregoire, of Oakdale CT, passed away on April 30, 2025, at the age of 82. She was born to Theresa (Cournoyer) and Clovis Forcier on June 8, 1942 in Manville, RI. Jeannette graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1960 and received her nursing certificate from St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in 1963. Her career as a para-professional for the Montville Board of Education brought her much joy. Her educational and professional journeys underscored a life dedicated to service, care, and aiding her community. 

Jeannette is survived by her loving children, Catherine Haynes (William), Suzanne Gregoire, Roger Gregoire (Cheryl), David Gregoire (Jo), James Gregoire (Melissa), and Janine Swartz (Scott); her brother, Roland, and sister-in-law, Beverly Forcier; along with 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond Gregoire, her parents Theresa and Clovis Forcier, and her sister Marie (Forcier) Jordan. 

Jeannette lived a life rich with laughter and joy, and marked by resilience, particularly after becoming a widow at the age of 43. She devoted herself to creating lasting memories with her family, fostering joy through large family gatherings, trips to Disney World, and festive holiday celebrations with a wealth of traditions. 

Jeannette was known for her trademark sassy sense of humor, which she maintained through her final days, bringing comfort & cheer to all who knew her. She coined the family tradition of PNAPs (Picnic Not a Party) which were full of memories, amusement, and heavy handed pours of Sangria.

The community will have the opportunity to pay their respects during calling hours on May 16, 2025, from 4 pm to 7 pm at Church and Allen Funeral Home in Uncasville, CT. A Mass will be celebrated in her honor May 17, 2025 at 11 am at Our Lady of Lakes, 752 Norwich-Salem Turnpike, Oakdale, CT. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Jeannette requested that bright colors be worn to celebrate her life.
