John was born of Olivia (Delmonte) Lombardo and Sebastiano Lombardo on 3/3/1924. Honorably he served his country in the US army from 7/28/1944 to 6/28/1946. He earned his BA in Civil Engineering at URI, propelling his 38-year career at General Dynamics, retiring as a Structural SR Designer. He was an avid golfer and was ever present to help his family in as many ways as he was able.
John married Susan Elizabeth Sciola on June 26, 1948 in Rhode Island. Susan survives him. His brother Anthony Lombardo, sons John Sebastiano Lombardo (Stephanie), and Robert John Lombardo (Jarine), granddaughters Cherylyn Lombardo and Christine Phelps, great-grandchildren Brandon Lapierre, Christian Longton, Justin Longton, and Shayla Lombardo, nieces and nephews Tom Weaver(Lorelei), Robert Weaver(Jane), Kathy Duszyk(Joseph), Anthony Borelli(Beverly), Virginia Uniejewski , James Borrelli, Stephanie Lombardo, Lisa Lombardo, Connie Lombardo, Rick Sciola, Gerri Pullano, Fran Gamble and Joan Onosko all survive him in grief.
John was predeceased by brother Rosario Lombardo, sisters Annetta Weaver (Tom) and Catherine Borelli (Guy).

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John’s at 10:00 AM on November second. Burial will be at the convenience of his family.
