SPC Jon Michael Naholnik, 32, of Montville CT, Born on June 23rd 1981, was lost suddenly on Wednesday September 25th 2013 due to a "Wounded Heart" after his services in Afghanistan.

Jon Proudly served his Country through the Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 102nd Infantry Regiment (Mountain) located in Norwalk, CT. But he was not only a Courageous Soldier and a US Hero to our country, he was a loving Son, Brother, Father, Uncle and amazing friend to anyone who crossed his path over his 32 years he spent with us on this earth. He captivated us with his contagious smile and pierced our souls with his amazing blue eyes.

Jon attended Waterford High School, after high school he was employed at Millstone Nuclear Power Plant as an armed guard. Following this he decided his calling was to follow in the footsteps of the men he looked up to...his Father Nik and his Grandfather Charlie, and joined the Army National Guard (2007-2013)

Family was the most important thing in Jon's life. He is predeceased by Melissa Dawn Naholnik, his sister. Christopher Michael Brandon, his cousin, Charlie and Violette Naholnik, paternal grandparents and George and Carrol Brandon, maternal grandparents.

Jon is survived by his parents William (Nik) and Sue Naholnik. His siblings, Brandi and Chad Naholnik all of Montville CT. He also left behind two daughters Kailynn Naholnik of Stonington CT and Kasey Alfiero of Waterford CT. In addition his many beloved nieces and nephews Luis, Arieanna, Niko, Jersey, Chad Jr., Alyssa, Cayden, Bentley, and Khloee. As well as his Uncle Eddie Brandon and brother in law Chris Lavoie.

Because of the huge heart and loving soul that Jon had, he touched so many lives and considered his friends to be as important as family, and with this he has left behind so many friends who loved him dearly, from child hood friends to his Army Brothers.

If tears could build a stairway and memories were a lane, I would walk right up to Heaven and bring you home again. No farewell words were spoken, no time to say were gone before I knew it, and only God knows why. My heart still aches in sadness and secret tears still flow, what it means to lose you, no one will ever know.

Oh Jon, you were such a wonderful man, you went to school with my daughters and I got to know you while I was training you at Millstone.. You were always so very special... that smile that twinkle in your eye... I am guessing no one that has not been deployed to a war zone can understand your pain...I am just so sorry you couldn't find the help you needed. You will be missed.. my heart aches for your family... I just want to say you touched my life and I will never forget you... to your family, my heart goes out to you... hold Jon in your hearts and I hope in time you will be able to enjoy memories... God Bless you all.. God Bless you Jon and thank you for touching my life.

Peace be with you.
A Life Well Lived

A life well lived is a precious gift
Of hope and strength and grace,
From someone who has made our world
A brighter, better place
It's filled with moments, sweet and sad
With smiles and sometimes tears,
With friendships formed and good times shared
And laughter through the years.
A life well lived is a legacy
Of joy and pride and pleasure,
A living, lasting memory
Our grateful hearts will treasure . Anonymous
