Marilyn R. Weckwerth

She was born in Lynn Ma. Daughter of the late Wilfred and Ruth (Thompson) Varney. Marilyn had a bachelors degree from State College in Salem Ma., and a masters degree from Eastern Connecticut State College. She taught elementary school for 31 years, in Massachusetts, Florida, South Carolina, and Connecticut.

Marilyn was a member of the Connecticut Education Association, and the National Education Association, and also was a member of the New London County and Connecticut Retired Teachers Association.

She also was a member of the Montville Senior Citizens, the Montville Center Congregational Church, and the Montville Steppers.

Marilyn and her late husband Richard loved travel and had traveled all over the world.

She is survived by son and daughter in law, Richard S. Weckwerth and his wife Holly.

She also leaves 4 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.

Besides her husband she was predeceased by a daughter Rhonda DiLallo, and a brother William Varney.

Visitation will be Thursday Jan. 16, 2025 from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm. at the Montville Funeral Home of Church and Allen 53 Norwich New London Tpke. Uncasville A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00pm. , and burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery Norwich.
