Uncasville-Mary Lorraine Reed, age 84, passed away on December 15, 2021 at William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich. She was born on July 29, 1937 in New London to the late Francis and Lorraine (Sizer) Pescatello. She was married to Wendell Reed. He survives her.
Mary worked in the family laundry business until she started her family, at which time she raised her family. She then went on to work at Robertson Paperbox and Quality Homemakers in Plainfield.
Besides her loving husband, she is survived by a son Wendell E. Reed of Uncasville, a son Robert Reed of Mystic, a daughter Mary Guindon and her husband Gary of Belfast, ME., a daughter Lorraine Grillo of Uncasville and grandchildren Robert, Lorraine, Michelle, Ralph and Jennifer. She also leaves behind a sister Frances Smarz and her husband Robert of Groton. She is predeceased by brothers Tuifano Pescatello and Frankie Pescatello.
Services will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in her name.
