Paul D Lefrancois

Paul David Lefrancois, a man of quiet strength, practical wisdom, and deep generosity, passed away on July 12, 2026. Born on June 30, 1948, at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam, Connecticut, Paul was the son of the late Joseph Ovila and Aurore (Levesque) Lefrancois. He grew up in Danielson, within the town of Killingly where he was raised in a large family alongside several siblings. He attended local schools graduating from St. James School in 1962 and Killingly High School in 1966. Showing an early aptitude for technical work he went on to attend Northeastern University in Boston, earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering in 1971.

Paul’s professional life was defined by an extraordinary work ethic and a rare lifelong commitment to his job. He began working for the Connecticut Light & Power Company in 1966 balancing his early years there with his studies. His career with the utility company spanned an incredible 45 years until his retirement in 2011. Throughout nearly half a century of service Paul was highly respected for his unwavering dedication to his profession.

As a father, Paul enjoyed teaching his sons how to fix things and shared with them his love for the water. Some of his happiest moments were spent on the Long Island Sound where he loved to fish for bluefish.

In his retirement, Paul thoroughly enjoyed life as a snowbird. He split his time between his roots in New England and his winter residence in Fort Pierce, Florida. For the last 19 years, he shared his home, travels, and life with his loving companion and partner, Judith A. Lewis. Together they were regulars watching basketball games in Connecticut.

He is survived by his companion, Judith; his three sons: Joseph Lefrancois, Carson City, NV, Michael Lefrancois (Milcah), Incline Village, NV and Peter Lefrancois, Clinton, CT; his grandchildren: Miya Lefrancois and Silus Lefrancois; and his sister Laure Whitmore, Port Saint Lucie Florida. Paul was predeceased by two brothers: Andre Lefrancois, Middleton MA and Donald Lefrancois, Griswold, CT, and two sisters: Lucille Ladd, Dayville, CT and Gertrude Duplisea, Wauregan, CT.

Calling hours will be on Sunday, August 9, 2026 from 5:00 PM -7:00 PM at Montville Funeral Home of Church and Allen, 53 Norwich-New London Tpke, Uncasville CT 06382. A mass will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 63 Old Norwich Road, Quaker Hill, CT on August 10, 2026 at 10:00 AM.
