Pearle D. Potter

Pearle Potter, age 69, of Preston, CT passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at William W. Backus Hospital, with her loving friends and family by her side. She was born in Norwich, CT on October 5, 1954, to Walter “Chick” and Christine (Loomis) Potter.

Pearle was a graduate of Norwich Free Academy. After graduating, Pearle would go on to work at the Dime Savings Bank ,the Vality Department store, and the Asylum Street and Golden pizza restaurants. Pearle found her calling as a school bus driver for the Town of Preston. Pearle was truly proud to be a bus driver and always referred to the students on her bus as her “kids”.

Pearle found joy in the little things life had to offer. She enjoyed spending time with her son and cuddling with her cat Hamilton. Before her health declined, Pearle enjoyed lunch dates with her friends and trips to Dairy Queen.

Pearle is survived by her son Chad Potter. Pearle had an abundance of friends with whom she kept in contact with and adored.

In her passing, she rejoins her parents, her brother John Potter, and sister Elaine Potter.

The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, PCTs, respiratory therapists, and dietary staff of Backus Hospital; especially those on E-4, and from Pulmonary Physicians of Norwich, for their care and compassion.

To honor Pearle’s memory, and in lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a contribution to the CT Humane Society (www.cthumane.org); the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute; or simply commit a “random act of kindness”.

Visitation will be Saturday April 20, 2024 from 9:00am-11:00am at the CHURCH AND ALLEN FUNERAL HOME 136 SACHEM STREET NORWICH. A Funeral Service will follow at 11:00am at the Church and Allen Funeral Home.
