

He was born in Norwich, CT on December 18, 1943 to the late Edward and Aline (LaCombe) Pineault. Raymond worked for 32 years as a machinist technician at the Naval Underwater Sound Lab until his retirement. Thereafter he worked for the Mohegan Tribe for 9 years and then part-time with a job he loved at the Mohegan Sun arena.
He was married to Marie A. (Strickland) on August 1, 1964 in New Hampshire. She survives him. He was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus for over 45 years, a member of the Maennerchor Club and faithful member of Saints Peter & Paul Church in Norwich. Ray loved Christmas, decorating with many moving figurines and lights, and Easter, where he would hide hundreds of eggs for family to find but most of all, he loved his family and was deeply loved by them.
Raymond is survived by his wife Marie, son; Raymond Pineault Jr. and wife Allyson, daughters; Aline Soulor and husband Anthony, Michelle Caron and husband Kevin, and Sandi, brothers; William, and Richard “Jerry”, nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother; Edward and one sister; Victoria.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10am at Saints Peter & Paul Church, 181 Elizabeth St., Norwich. Burial will immediately follow at Fort Shantok Burial Ground in Uncasville, CT. There are no calling hours.
