Uncasville, CT - Scott Stephen Cook, age 57, of Uncasville passed away at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford on November 13, 2025. He was born in Norwich, CT on August 4, 1968 to the late Edward A. and Eleanor G. (Beetham) Cook.
Anyone who knew Scott knows that he was an avid racing fan but also a racer at all the local tracks for over 31 years and his kids have been following in his racing footsteps. Scott was a lifetime Montville resident who played youth and high school football in Montville before he went on to play at Western Connecticut State University. After college, he returned to Montville and began what would be his coaching career, most significantly at Montville High School where he touched the lives of many. Even though Scott had a successful business, teaching was his true passion. He taught K-12, but most recently was teaching at his most loved job at Shepard Hill Elementary for the Plainfield School System. Even when Scott was not feeling well, he was able to get himself out the door because he loved and looked forward to seeing his students and coworkers.
Scott was very proud of his children for all of their accomplishments in academics, sports and achievements in life. You could never have a conversation with Scott without him speaking so highly of all 3 of his children. He will be missed immensely by all.
He is survived by his son Chase Cook of Norwich, CT and his daughters Sydney Cook and Peyton Cook of Oakdale, CT and the mother of his daughters who helped him through it all Nancy Adrian of Oakdale, CT. He also leaves behind a brother James Cook and his wife Jetta of Oakdale, CT, a sister Tina Guetens and her husband John of Uncasville, CT, and nephews Bryan Guetens of Boston and Tyler Guetens of East Hartford. He is predeceased by a brother Stephen Cook and a nephew Chris Cook.
Family and friends may visit Montville Funeral Home of Church and Allen, 53 Norwich New London Tpke, Uncasville, CT on Friday, December 5th from 5-8 PM for calling hours.
