She was born on April 24, 1948, in Norwich of the late Louis Eccleston and Florence (Robarge) Eccleston.
She married Monroe O. Morris, IV, on December 4, 1976, in Norwich. He has predeceased her.
Before her retirement, Susan worked as a LPN (licensed practical nurse) at Norwichtown Rehabilitation & Healthcare Nursing Home, for so many years we all can’t remember exactly how many!
Susan was an avid reader. She enjoyed going to the beach, floating in the pool on a hot day, and spending time with her family especially family picnic times. Her most favorite times were spent with her granddaughter Lilly.
Susan is survived by her older sister Elizabeth J. Rice, of Quaker Hill, CT, her daughter Hope A. Kidd and her husband Charles, of Norwich, CT, her son Christopher P. Ballestrini, of Uncasville, CT, and her grandchildren Charles L. Kidd, of Glenn Burnie, Maryland, and Lillian G. Kidd, of Providence, Rhode Island. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and even a great-great niece and nephew.
In addition to her parents and husband , she is predeceased by her son Monroe O. Morris, V, of Uncasville, her brother Philip Eccleston, of Voluntown, and her niece Laurie Eccleston, of Voluntown.
A Celebration of Susan’s life will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 2:00 pm, at the Montville Funeral Home of Church and Allen, 53 Route 32, Montville. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
