Susan Reed

Susan was born on June 23, 1974, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in New London, Connecticut, and was raised in Montville, Connecticut. She attended Montville High School, where she graduated in 1993.

Susan was known for her charismatic spirit and deeply caring nature. She had a gift for finding the right words at the right time and touched countless lives through her kindness, compassion, and presence. She endured many challenges throughout her life with strength and grace, and she is now at peace. Susan will be profoundly missed and forever held in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Susan is survived by her mother, Diane Callaghan; stepfather, John Callaghan; father, Stafford Chappell; stepmother, Dale Chappell; her beloved daughter, Alexandria Reed, and son-in-law, Andrew Roberts; her grandchildren Talon Roberts, Gabriel Roberts, William Anderson, Andrea Anderson, Kira Charette-Roberts, and Killian Charette-Roberts. She is also survived by her sister, Lisa Barnes, and brother-in-law, Donald Barnes; her brothers, Jason Maddox and Christopher Chappell; and sister-in-law, Deenae, along with many extended family members and friends.

Calling hours will be held at Montville Funeral Home of Church & Allen, located at 53 Norwich-New London Tnpk., Uncasville, CT, on February 13, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A funeral home service will take place at the same location on February 14, 2026, starting at 11:00 am, followed by refreshments at the VFW.
