Theresa M McAvoy

She was born in Worcester, MA on July 11, 1929 to the late George and Delia (LaPierre) Beauvais. After completing high school, Theresa went to nursing school and achieved her degree and her R.N. Thereafter she worked at Backus Hospital in Norwich, the last 35 years of which was as a Nursing Supervisor before her retirement.

In 1953 Theresa married James McAvoy in Worcester, MA. He predeceased her.

Theresa was an avid reader and enjoyed playing bingo, board games and Mahjong. She was devoted to praying the rosary daily and known to always have a smile on her face. She will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her children: Catherine McAvoy, Rosemary (Thomas) Mathes, Michael (Lee Ann) McAvoy, John (Terri) McAvoy and Tricia McAvoy; grandchildren: Brian, Kevin, Sean, Will, Susan and Jonathan; and great-grandchildren: Aleah, Liliana Grace, Rowan and Ryleigh.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 7th at 11am at the Montville Funeral Home of Church & Allen, 53 Norwich-New London Tnpk., Uncasville, CT with a calling hour beginning at 10am until the time of the service. Burial is private at the convenience of the family.
