Tyler Dale Parsons, 58, of Oakdale, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025, at Hartford Hospital. He was born on January 31, 1967, in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Neil Parsons and Marcia (Kelly) Parsons. Tyler graduated from Montville High School in 1985.
A true jack of all trades, Tyler worked in many fields throughout his life, including painting bridges, commercial fishing, carpentry, and supervising a scrapyard. Despite his varied career, music was his greatest passion and source of joy.
As a child, Tyler taught himself to play multiple instruments. In his teenage years, he performed with his lifelong friends as a member of a band called Midnite Band. Music remained a constant in his life; up until the final months, he could often be found with a bass guitar, drumsticks, or a harmonica, always with music playing in the background. His final performance on stage took place in the summer of 2025. He was a true ray of sunshine when he walked into the room and could crack a joke at anything.
Tyler is survived by his mother, Marcia Parsons; his two daughters, Tylynne Parsons and Chanelle Taylor; and his siblings, Kelly Parsons and Holli Kittleman. He was preceded in death by his father, Neil Parsons.
A celebration of Tyler’s life will be held on February 7, 2026 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the VFW Post 10060, located at 91 Raymond Hill Rd., Uncasville, Connecticut. A private burial will take place at a later date in Kittery, Maine.
