

Edith I. (Keefe) Wood, 69, of Union City, passed away Friday, November 18 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. She was born March 26, 1942 in Chicago to David and Ruth Keefe. Edith retired from the State of Michigan and continued working as a caregiver for many years thereafter. She lived in Las Vegas, NV for thirteen years and relocated back to Michigan. She was an avid Bingo player, loved to play cards with her girlfriends, her daily chats with her friend Wanda and she was amazing at crocheting.
Edith is survived by her daughter, Dawn M. (Wood) Siler of Union City, two sons; David W. Wood of East Leroy, Daniel L Wood of Union City, brothers; Robert (Millie) Marten of Illinois, Richard Keefe of Nevada, sisters; Kay (James) Friedrich of Nevada and Karen (John) Brown of New Mexico, nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She also left behind a very close nephew in Las Vegas, many nieces, nephews and very close friends.
Family and friends will gather at for a prayer at Riverside Cemetery in Union City on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial contributions be made to the Union City Library to help purchase a brick in her memory.
